  Role Overview:

  Reporting to the UK Defence Portfolio Programme Finance Manager this Programme Finance Analyst (PFA) role will provide support in the area of Programme Financial Control, helping to ensure the integrity of the financials on one of our key UK MOD programmes, which sits in the Defence Portfolio within our National Security and Defence (NS&D) Division, based in the South East of England.

  Duties & Responsibilities:

  Support the Programme Finance Lead and other key members of the Programme Management Team

  Provide highest level of customer service to all customers and stakeholders

  Raise customer invoices and monitor cash collection, analyse and clear unbilled receivables

  Assist with supplier purchases, including review and approval of purchase orders and monitoring of supplier payments

  Analyse programme actuals (costs and hours) for accuracy, identify & correct errors, and communicate issues to Programme Management to prevent future errors

  Collate and analyse data in support of various tasks, including updates to forecasts, programme baseline, programme Estimate At Complete (EAC) and risks and opportunities management

  Support preparation of financial data for programme or operational reviews

  Provide excellent adhoc support to a wide variety of stakeholders both within the finance leadership team, and within wider operational teams.

  You will be expected to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and to show a degree of flexibility in working hours when required to meet project and finance deadlines

  You will take ownership of decisions made

  Skills Required:

  Organised and thorough, with attention to detail

  Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  Team player but able to work independently and proactively

  Demonstrated ability to work proactively to complete work assignments

  Project/programme accounting experience

  Ability to work effectively across organisations and with multiple locations

  Good time management with the ability to achieve deadlines

  Capable of operating to tight schedules in a demanding environment

  Desirable Skills:

  SC clearance desirable

  Recognised accounting qualification or relevant background, with intention to begin studying towards qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA
