Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Residential Experiences,the Program Coordinator for Residential Education plays a critical role inensuring the smooth operation of Residential Education activities by providingprogrammatic, event, and administrative support. The Program Coordinatorwill be responsible for supporting the essential responsibilities forResidential Education including, student education & engagement,recruitment, and hiring. This position assists in the implementation ofHRE's Residential Education Model (REM) by helping plan, coordinate,and execute large-scale programming. Administrative responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to, managing room reservations,coordinating resource allocations, placing catering orders, coordinatinginterview schedules, and formal employment processes for student staff.
This is a temporary, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in acalendar year.
Essential Functions
Programming & Student Engagement
Coordinate all HRE's large-scale events and central programming.Support digital media, design, and marketing efforts for the department.Schedule monthly meetings for campus partners connected to Living &Learning Communities and Affinity Housing.Coordinate and disseminate interest rosters for HRE's annual livingcommunity request process.Implement marketing strategies to promote Hall Council membership.Lead the application and elections process for Hall Council members.Assist with event set up and take down.Recruitment, Selection, and Hiring
Submit job listings on Pioneer Careers Online (PCO) and support relatedtasks.Manage room reservations for training and selection events.Triage and assist with responding to student recruitment-related inquiries.Schedule interviews with candidates and manage interview logistics.Create and maintain candidate and student employee files.Manage formal hiring and separation processes for undergraduate and graduatestaff such as submitting necessary paperwork, communicating with prospectivestaff, and monitoring hiring/separation completion.Administrative
Manage resource reservations for HRE and DU partner events, such asorganization fairs, prospective student visits, key HRE initiatives.Coordinate catering orders for various events.Manage supply ordering to ensure the availability of necessary materials.Supporting time-limited special projects for residential education asneeded.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to analyze and interpret data, processes and needs based onlimited information and to research solutions.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office softwareExcellent collaboration and interpersonal skills along with the ability towork with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff,students and external constituents.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Required Qualifications
Associate degree with 1-2 years' experience in administrative or studentsupport role.
Demonstrated record of building collaborative partnerships with colleaguesand key stakeholder groups.Evening office hours and occasional weekend commitments are expected.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's d gree with 1-2 years' experience working in universityhousing or off-campus student housing.
Experience working in a student support role.Work Schedule
This is a temporary, non-benefited position. This position is expected towork 20hr/week between 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, includingacademic break periods. Nights and weekends may be necessary.
Working Environment
Standard office environment, unexpected interruptions occur often and stresslevel is moderate to high, noise level is quiet to moderate.
