　　SUMMARY

　　This temporary, 4-week position is responsible for supporting GRCC's ESL Fast Track-workshop, a State of Michigan Immigrant Student Success Grant-funded project designed to help select English as a Second Language (ESL) students improve their Levels of English Proficiency (LOEP) placement test scores.

　　ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

　　• Provide LOEP test-taking strategies to students individually and in small groups.• Co-facilitate mock test scenarios with students.• Assist the facilitator with reviewing and offering feedback on practice LOEP questions/tests.• Assist the facilitator with large- and small-group LOEP-related activities.• Meet one-on-one with students to review practice test scores and test-taking strategies.• Promote the program to current and/or prospective GRCC ESL students.

　　JOB SPECIFICATIONS

　　Educational Credentials

　　• Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, Linguistics or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

　　Work Experience

　　• Experience teaching or tutoring college-level literacy skills to ESL students.• Experience working with immigrant and/or refugee populations preferred.
