This vacancy is located at Capital Area Recovery Program (CARP), a 24-hour substance abuse facility.
This position requires the incumbents to drive as part of his/her regular job duties. Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license upon hire.

Professional Counselor 1 (pay grade level SS-412) has a minimum salary of $18.38/hourly; $1,470.40/bi-weekly.
Professional Counselor 2 (pay grade level SS-413) has a minimum salary of $19.67/hourly; $1,573.60/bi-weekly.
Professional Counselor 3 (pay grade level SS-414) has a minimum salary of $21.05/hourly; $1,684.00/bi-weekly.
Professional Counselor 4 (pay grade level SS-415) has a minimum salary of $22.52/hourly; $1,801.60/bi-weekly.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Registration as either a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Louisiana Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.
NOTE:
Pursuant to Act 484 of the 2014 Legislative Session and effective May 1, 2015, Counselor Interns are now called "Provisional Licensed Professional Counselors" (PLPCs) and MFT Interns are now called "Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists" (PLMFTs).

Manages Clinical and case management responsibilities for an assigned caseload beginning with admission and ending with discharge from facility.
Performs goal-directed and supportive individual and group interviews with clients experiencing crises or multiple situational problems.
Participates in the decision making process of the treatment team including formulating therapeutic activities and recommending a treatment plan.
Serves as liaison between the client, family and the agency/institution.
Evaluates information in case records in order to recommend changes in psychosocial intervention.
Obtains and prepares social histories of clients for information to be reviewed by treatment teams and for use in referrals to other agencies.
May provide training in caseload principles and practices and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulation, and agency policy and procedures.
May serve as lead-worker.
May provide expert testimony and recommendations on behalf of clients in court cases in response to judges and other officers of the court.
