(Opportunity to earn up to 200% to plan)This position is responsible for the direct supervision of hourlyemployees in our manufacturing departments to assure the most efficientand economical performance of the operations in accordance with qualitystandards and production schedules. Primary areas of responsibilitiesinclude assembly operations, plastic injection molding, machining,manufacturing cells, final meter accuracy testing and packaging. MainJob Duties: * People management * Provides supervision of hourly shiftemployees in a high volume, high product variation, union environment tomeet both short term and long term production objectives. * Conductappraisal of employee performance, attendance, and recommend wageadjustments, promotions, etc. Develop and implement training programsfor new and existing employees to ensure a flexible workforce. *Production plan fulfillment * Utilizes operational metrics and an onthe floor presence approach to maintain close surveillance overmanufacturing operations to assure scheduled workflow, utilization ofmanpower skills, machines, tooling methods and machine repairs. Auditlabor and machine reporting regularly for accuracy and efficiency tostandard production methods, rates and schedules. * Safety * Ensurescompliance with safety regulations, Company policies, and labor contractprovisions and administers disciplinary action when necessary. Ensuresthe adherence to all applicable safety procedures, proper utilization ofsafety equipment, housekeeping methods, and is on alert for thedevelopment of hazardous conditions. * Review security problems withthe Security Guard. * Collaboration * Communicate daily withappropriate managers and peer group on overall operating conditions andmake recommendations to improve procedures, methods, and techniques.Communicate regularly with direct reports to provide goals and objectiveof the operations * Process Improvement * Helps develop and implementoperational solutions utilizing lean manufacturing methods in a teamenvironment. Able to identify, investigate, and analyze problems relatedto materials, quality, equipment, methods, tools, etc., and initiatecorrective action to resolve such problems in a timely and efficientmethod.
