We are looking to hire a Product Stewardship & Regulatory Scientist here at DuPont.
The successful candidate will support the toxicology testing and research functions in DuPont by responding to information requests using various information science tools and techniques.
Summarize toxicology data (clearly and concisely) for regional Product Stewardship reviews and regulatory documents.
Perform literature searches in toxicology, chemical, environmental, and biological sciences to support generation of product safety reviews, setting acceptable exposure limits, setting appropriate substance classifications, and registering DuPont products worldwide along with applying conceptual analysis to technical information.
Your Key Responsibilities :
Development of chemical hazard classifications according to Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of classification and labelling
Evaluate toxicology data and apply GHS criteria to develop hazard classifications for chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and submissions to various regulatory agencies
Support Process Leader for GHS classifications
Maintain multiple databases for various processes (IUCLID, EHS)
Troubleshoot and resolve technical and process issues
Monitor current regulatory compliance requirements to ensure compliance
Technical Advisor for GHS, REACh, and Product Stewardship deliverables
Review technical data and documents
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Conceptually analyze and summarize data from various technical sources
Present technical updates and issues to management and team members
Effectively set priorities and resolve competing demands while managing multiple projects
Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with high quality products
Effectively communicate with customers and team members
Produce Product Stewardship and Regulatory deliverables
Utilize reference interview skills to determine appropriate project requirements and deliverables
Maintain proficiency in current search strategies and resources
Review search results to determine potential key information
Analyze and summarize key information into appropriate deliverable format
Maintain proficiency in software for required deliverables
Support toxicology testing and research functions
Maintain and update established electronic and paper systems for indexing and retrieval of toxicology testing information including using conceptual analysis techniques.
Provide study information archiving services that include coordination of study records for permanent retention via long-term storage, tracking, and record retrieval capabilities.
Provide consulting regarding corporate proprietary records management practices and GLP guidelines for study records management.
Your Qualification Profile:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in information science, biology, chemistry, or related scientific field.
Familiarity with toxicology terminology, acronyms, and the concepts of routes of exposure, clinical signs, target organs effects, lethal doses, and exposure limits.
Familiarity with Safety Data sheet section content and health & safety phrases.
Experience with Excel macros preferred
Strong organizational skills and high degree of accuracy.
Experience in toxicology, biology, chemistry, or related scientific field.
Demonstrated knowledge of UN GHS Purple Book regulations.
Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) module of SAP or other SDS software.
Demonstrated knowledge of REACh regulations and IUCLID software.
Proficiency of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access.
Familiarity with ECHA website, NLM Toxnet, SciFinder, STN software a plus.
Demonstrated experience in effectively managing information.
Effective oral and written communications skills, including effective customer interactions.
Demonstrated ability to understand information indexing and retrieval concepts.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities effectively and manage multiple assignments.
Demonstrated ability to generate and manage technical projects and consistently meet deadlines.
Please note employees work onsite 3 days each week and remotely 2 days a week.
