The Current ProductEngineering Supervisor will lead a small group of skilled Engineers, andTechnologists to manage TAPCO products. The individual will be anauthority and strong advocate for safety, cost reduction, quality, andfield service effectiveness to improve TAPCO\'s financials and customersatisfaction. This position works on teams; leading or as a member ofcross-functional improvement efforts. Work includes planning,supervising, and coordinating all phases of Current Product engineering.The supervisor works as a change agent initiating and managing projectsto improve reliability, safety, and cost. Along with Process Engineeringleader, develops production and engineering policies, practices, andprocedures to improve quality in a low volume, high mix of signage andwarning systems assembly operation. Essential Duties andResponsibilities: Conduct economic analysis on changes proposed forCurrent Product - cost, safety, and reliability. Define, propose andimplement product BOM changes, including alternate supplier/components.Evaluate, approve and initiate engineering drawings and/or changerequests Provide guidance and mentoring, plan/coordinate staffing needsand resources as well as ongoing performance management. Maximizeproduct quality and minimize product liability exposure by working withquality control, field service cases and providing insight and solutionsto improve reliability and cost associated with CoNQ. Participate infailure analysis teams and New Product Development process of C4.Provides key inputs and drive DFX (Design for Manufacturability, Designfor Cost) during design/product development process Establishobjectives, schedules and priorities in Current Product Engineeringactivities (Cost, Efficiency and Project timelines) and review staffbased on their accomplishments towards these directions.
