This includes pipe fusion, pipe production, quality assessment, trend analysis, and material verification. Ensuring products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance.Reports to the Senior Product Engineer (SPE)Job is based in Warrendale, PA. Full time in office during training and initial assignments. After that at the discretion of the SPE. Some workdays may be done at home.Essential Functions Include, but may not be limited to the following:Review and approve/reject fusion joint reports for fusion techniciansOversee extruder locations for coordination of testing, reports, and troubleshooting of issuesOversee 3rd party lab pipe extrusion testsMaintain pipe quality and fusion databasesAccept/reject pipe lot runs based on extruder and lab resultsPrepare tensile test specimens with CNC machinePerform pipe tensile testing with Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and produce testing reports using UTM softwareInterpret tensile test results to identify plastic deformation and ultimate strengthProvide technical support for work in process, new product evaluations, test and inspection activities as requiredReview quality and field data to identify common themes in support of driving continuous improvementRequirementsBS in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical.
