To support the manufacturing organization by providing technical leadership in the areas of metal cutting and forming, welding, and assembly processes. This candidate will demonstrate ownership over the processes including but not limited to general support, productivity improvements, safety improvements, preventative maintenance, and implementation of new parts and products. This candidate will be responsible for generating cost savings ideas and action plans to improve manufacturing processes and eliminate waste. This candidate must be both hands on and a self-starter as well as have the necessary technical skillset to support a manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
• Support lean manufacturing systems and work closely with counterparts to implement and sustain processes.
• Trouble shoot and resolve production issues in fabrication and assembly.
• Support in PFMEA or QMS activities
• Investigate new and cost-effective technologies to drive efficiency in the manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Capture time standard calculations to create or modify part routings
Education, Skills and Experience
• Four-year Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Mechanical, or Industrial engineering or equivalent
• 0-2 years of process engineering experience required. Specific experience in metal fabrication, metal forming, welding, or general assembly is a must.
• Working knowledge of GD&T as it relates to reading prints, measuring parts, and reviewing parts for various manufacturing processes
• Experience with generating PFMEA documentation
• PC skills including Microsoft Office applications required.
