Responsible for all aspects of injection molding process development fornew, incoming, and existing tools. Coordinate all activities required toensure a successful start-up to new processes, uninterrupted productionand maintaining overall company scrap rate goals. Key Accountabilitiesand Responsibilities - Sampling of new, modified or customer suppliedtools. Coordinate Sample Orders and provide efficient mold sampling anddata collection. - Coordinate with production, engineering, toolroom,quality, and maintenance to ensure all aspects of new production runsare complete prior to actual production. - Process development, processcapability, IQ OQ PQ validations and design of experiments, SPC, machinetechnology, and capability studies. Use of SIM tools (RJG eDart based)and other advanced platforms to develop robust processing windows on newand current tool and process capability studies, evaluations andrecommendations. - Develop and execute protocols and reports as requiredto support validation activities. Including SIM tool documentation,process analysis and reporting of data in clear format to be used inValidation Reports - Participate in Program (Design) Reviews. Recommendefficient mold design for optimum functionality and processingcapability and quality. - Identify all necessary requirements forproduction and processing. - Identify and document tooling / processshortcomings and recommend needed changes and/or improvements. Tofacilitate the discussion and review of problems with in-house toolpersonnel / process development teams and to assist in a documented planwith each customer / tool. - Evaluate equipment and recommendimprovement or replacement. Act as liaison between Production,Engineering, Quality and sales on all process / tool related issues.Perform design of experiments to improve process and part quality. -Identify and schedule repairs on any equipment critical to controllingthe molding process. Troubleshoot any equipment suspected of malfunctionand tag them (limited use or do not use). Develop a plan of attack withmanufacturing / production to schedule, troubleshoot and accomplish allapplicable repairs. Coordinate with the Maintenance Department toformulate maintenance schedules on equipment. - Troubleshoot productionjobs for continuous improvement opportunities (cycle time, scrapreduction, documentation clarity, etc.) as required. Assist withstart-ups and changeovers when required. - Assist in the development ofa preventative maintenance plan and refine plan on an ongoing basis fornew tools or equipment. - Commit to continuous improvement and developmolding technology at Apex Resource Technologies. - Contributes to theteam effort by accomplishing related results as needed and is committedto continuous improvement in all job functions Experience, Skills,Education, And Training - Bachelor\'s Degree preferred, minimum highschool diploma or equivalent - 5-7 years of injection molding processingexperience required - Master Molder Training required - Has been trainedon the fundamentals of Scientific Molding which includes gate freeze,viscosity curve, short shot studies, pressure drops and performingDOE\'s. - Has the general understanding and knowledge of pressuretransducers, de-coupled molding and the interactions with injectionmolding machines. - Has the capabilities and knowledge to set-up anddocument Process alarm settings. Work Environment And PhysicalDemands - Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. - Must have good vision -Must have manual dexterity - Must be able to sit or stand for longperiods of time - Repetitive motions are required - Must be able to move1100 lb. gaylords with a pallet jack - Requires frequent bending,squatting, and twisting motions - Must be able to climb stepladders -Must be able to climb up and down stairs
