The Controls Engineer role will evaluate, prioritize, develop and implement basic and advanced regulatory control schemes to support the Safety, Environmental, Compliance, and Production goals of the Pine Bend Refinery. The successful candidate will work closely with refinery business and operations teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for improved control of process systems. Our Team Our team consists of engineers from all disciplines with industry experience ranging from 5 to 30 years. As a Controls Engineer, you will be a core team member of our Process Controls organization focusing on ensuring our logic is available to support safe, clean, and reliable operation of our facility. What You Will Do Explore and deploy innovative process control concepts and technologies that provide a competitive advantage to the refinery Work with new and changing organizations within the company to leverage new tools, methods, and ideas to create the greatest value versus the alternatives Troubleshoot existing process control schemes and strategies. Recommend logic, tuning, or field instrumentation modifications. Serve as a subject matter expert for logic acceptance testing Develop, program, test, and deploy DCS logic per control systems specs and standards via the Management of Change and Work Order processes Support diverse project teams of Operations, Process Engineers and Business Leaders with process control solutions and monitoring tools to improve control system availability, performance, and reliability Demonstrate critical, economic thinking with strong written and verbal communication Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Industrial experience in refining, energy, and/or chemical sectors DCS or PLC configuration experience in a chemical plant or petroleum refinery or similar What Will Put You Ahead Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Five (5) years or more of Control Systems Engineering work in industrial environment Experience with Emerson DeltaV distributed control systems (DCS) Five (5) years or more of Process Engineering work experience in refining or petrochemicals At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
