Job Overview
The Pharmacy Technician for Medication Access is primarily responsible forcoordination of medication access for patients and families. This positionalso spends a portion of time performing the job duties of a PharmacyTechnician; under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and followingestablished policies and procedures, performs a variety of technicalprocedures to support hospital inpatient or outpatient pharmacy operations.We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized,team-oriented person to join our Pharmacy Team here at Children's HospitalColorado. As part of our long-term commitment to providing pediatric care tothe Aurora community, Children's Colorado now has services at our newfacility: Children's Colorado Health Pavilion on North Potomac Circle. Therenovated 110,000+ square-foot location includes specialty clinics,outpatient behavioral health services, pharmacy and laboratory services,dental and orthodontics, eye care and optical shop, KidStreetrehabilitation services, orthopedics and sports medicine. Qualifications
EDUCATION - High School Diploma or EquivalentEXPERIENCE -Two (2) years of pharmacy technician experienceEQUIVALENCY-Completion of pharmacy technician program may substitute for one (1) yearof the experience requirement. ORCompletion of pharmacy technician program plus one (1) year of experienceperforming medication prior authorizations may substitute for two (2)years of pharmacy technician experience.CERTIFICATION(S) -State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician (PHAT) CertificationCertificate through a nationally recognized certification board or bodyapproved by the National Asso iation of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) such asthe Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthcareAssociation (NHA)Billing and Reimbursement Certificate within 12 months of hire
