Job Overview:
The Manager of Subcontracts leads a team of employees and is accountable for the staffing and performance of the Subcontracts department.
Selects and manages construction subcontractors for projects in Oil & Gas, Chemistry and Energy Transition industries. Negotiates subcontracts, manages changes, resolves claims and approves payments. Supports proposals, estimates, FEEDs. Develops project Subcontracts strategies. Works in global organization, with colleagues and projects located in all continents. Works for global Clients, on projects implementing top technologies. Reports to Supply Chain Manager located in Brno office.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Support project resource staffing plans for pre-award in-office and post-award on site
Develop and maintain the Project Subcontract Execution Plan
In association with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management, develop Subcontract sourcing documentation
Review and approve Subcontracts tendering and award documentation, and make a recommendation for award
Negotiate commercial terms and conditions, in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines
Issue Subcontract Award and proceed with administration and management of subcontracts
Interface with subcontract coordinators and specialists regarding the subcontractor’s progress
Manage change of scope and cost implications
Resolve situations with subcontractors
Taking care of invoice queries with subcontractors and internal personnel as required
Support proposals, estimates, FEEDs
Develop Project Subcontracts Strategies
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Business
10 to 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry or industrial construction
High standard of written and spoken English
Flexibility to travel on business trips
