  Position Description:

  Applicants are permitted to work remotely from an at home work site anywhere in the United States.

  Develops and implements technical solutions for customer-facing Web applications. Programs client-side (presentation layer) and server-side (integration/controller layer) applications, using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular. Reviews system design specifications by contributing to technical design documentation, coding, unit testing, development-led integration testing, and defect resolution according to Agile software development methodologies. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Participates in architecture design teams.Defines and implements application level architecture.Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.Advises senior management on technical strategy.Mentors junior team members.Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

  Education and Experience:

  Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience developing Web applications.

  Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience developing Web applications.

  Skills and Knowledge:

  Candidate must also possess:

  Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing, developing, testing, and releasing Web applications using services or server technologies (Java, Spring, Linux, Oracle) and client technologies (Angular, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, Ajax/XML/JSON, JavaScript, and jQuery) in a financial services environment; and developing automated tests to ensure code coverage using Junit.DE designing and developing customer-facing Web applications according to Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies; performing Web server development using Java and J2EE server-side technologies (Spring MVC, Batch, and Integration) and SOAP/RESTful Web services (Swagger API) in a financial services environment; and performing software development using Apache and Web security technologies (SSO, PING, OAuth, and SAML).DE presenting and documenting technical and systems designs or solutions (operational run-books, architectural designs, and flow diagrams) using Confluence and Microsoft Visio according to Agile and Waterfall methodologies (Kanban).DE designing and developing responsive Web application components and modules, using client-side technologies (Angular, TypeScript, NPM or Node, and Gulp/Grunt/Webpack); creating client-side code automated unit tests using Karma and Jasmine; ensuring application functionalities by architecting, developing, and deploying Cloud-ready twelve-factor compliant applications using Docker, Jenkins, Artifactory, IBM Urban Code Deploy, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies.
