　　As a Principal/Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll be building deep learning based user understanding, content understanding, and content generation models on the Personalization team. The mission of the team  is to connect a billion users with the best connections and content at the right time, covering an extremely diverse range of search and discovery problems at high scale.  This is fundamental to how we personalize the search experience to drive engagement and retention for Roblox users. Our search and discovery systems suggest all experiences that the users see and play with across all surfaces. In the future, our system also auto generates summaries, images, or videos from the experience content.  With daily active users growing at a record rate, we are looking for experienced machine learning engineers who are passionate about designing and building advanced ML solutions to power Roblox’s Search and Discovery.

　　You Will: Design and implement the machine learning solutions that power the visual and text based search and discovery system to drive Roblox content distribution. Design and implement LLMs for visual understanding and natural language understanding. Design and implement generative models to generate text, images, or videos. Author specs for new features and improvement. Collaborate with other teams within Roblox to make sure we are building products with community first mindset. Balance researching new technologies with a practical approach to accomplish the research efforts into the Roblox products. Communicate with the industry and communities where applicable and be ambassador for Roblox. You Have: You have 6+ years of experience designing and building scalable machine learning and search solutions that provide recommendations to millions or billions of users. Break down product requirements into iterative deliverable stages. A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related discipline, Advanced degree are a definite plus. Initiated and facilitated challenging technical decisions across multiple teams and organizations. You Are: Battle Ready: You have 7+ (for principal) or 4+ (for senior) years of experience designing and building scalable machine learning solutions to solve NLU use cases. Experienced with transformer based model training, inference, and product integration. Break down product requirements into iterative deliverable stages. You have a BS in Computer Science or a related discipline, Advanced degrees are a definite plus. A Leader: You have initiated and facilitated challenging technical decisions across multiple teams and organizations. User oriented: While deeply technical, you always start with the needs of the user, whether they are Roblox users or internal engineers. Creative: You take a creative and strategic approach to solving hard problems. You simplify the complex. You bring in fresh ideas from new places. For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
