About the role: Reporting to the Global IT Director, the Principal Business Architect within Cardiovascular Commercial IT is responsible for defining and modeling the organization's business capabilities, processes, and assists in enterprise-wide strategic planning process. Works with business stakeholders to identify business opportunities, define high level business needs, and assist in developing business cases. Also ensures that business capabilities and processes are optimized and aligned with the broader organization's goals and objectives.This role will be a key partner during the product commercialization process aligning business outcomes with solution components required to efficiently achieve those outcomes. Your responsibilities include: Maintain a strategic view of the architecture to meet the needs of the organization. Research industry trends in architecture disciplines and uses them to develop IT architecture strategies in support BSC's enterprise-wide IT strategies. Anticipate future architectural risks based on industry trends and business needs at the enterprise level Lead the appropriate architecture work streams to develop long term strategies/plans (blueprints/roadmaps) Utilize architecture expertise and experience to resolve key business and business process issues. Consult on the implementation of business solutions based on the architecture. Provide business architectural leadership to senior management and subject matter experts, including other senior business architects. Develop repeatable methods for creating and integrating strategic and tactical implementation plans from a complex business architectural vision involving many business strategies. Use an architectural approach to influence the alignment of business goals and decisions with company goals. Implement recommended architecture changes throughout area of responsibility. Ensure architectural adherence for the services developed by Enterprise Architecture. What we're looking for: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline 10+ years architecture experience Experience working in product commercialization environment including commercial functions such as marketing, sales, and R&D. Demonstrated ability to create implementation roadmaps that provide realistic progress to achieving a future state. Able to articulate in IT and non-IT terms the architecture principles in more than one architecture domain. Ability to create architectures for complex solutions leveraging approved strategic and standard technologies. Ability to apply architecture principles to a given context. Demonstrated executive presence, comfortable collaborating with senior leaders Preferred Qualifications Experience in the medical device or life sciences industry. Utilize influencing techniques when interacting with stakeholders Excellent written and verbal skills including proficiency in tailoring communications depending on stakeholder.
