The Quantum Information Science cluster at Syracuse University (SU), Syracuse, NY, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to collaborate on research focused on theoretical quantum information science and its applications. All qualified candidates will be considered, but we are looking in particular for those who already have knowledge of some specialized field (e.g. high-energy theory, gravity, many-body physics, cosmology) and seek to apply quantum information concepts (such as entanglement, thermalization, coarse-graining, and decoherence) to it. We particularly invite candidates interested in the application of quantum information to cosmology. Successful candidates will join Dr. Jason Pollack’s research group in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; they will be welcome to advise students and collaborate with other members of the Department as well as the Department of Physics. This postdoctoral position is for up to three years starting in Fall 2024.
