　　Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Florida

　　The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking candidates for a position at the level of Post-doctoral Associate. This is a 12-month position available at the Florida Institute for National Security (FINS) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the University of Florida.

　　Duties will include, but not be limited to, conducting research on the development of automated circuit design practices for assurance on hardware devices like PCBs and ICs and protection of intellectual property. Research will also entail the development of risk assessment models to prevent/invalidate attacks on these hardware devices. Primary responsibilities will also encompass project management to meet annual project deliverable commitments including tasks such as organizing weekly project meetings, mentoring students, software prototyping, creation of scholarly publications, and the delivery of presentations to share research outcomes. This role will also involve collaborations with FINS faculty, sponsors, and partners for overseeing grant-funded projects, paving the way for future collaborations and crafting proposals for funding from industry and government-level agencies.

　　Expected Salary:

　　$55,000 - $70,000 and negotiable based on experience.

　　Minimum Requirements:

　　In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess a PhD in electrical engineering or a related field and some project management or teaching experience.

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　The preferred candidate should possess a background in hardware security research, specifically in intellectual property protection and hardware assurance. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate expertise in computer vision, image analysis techniques, machine learning, deep learning, and electronic design automation tools for both integrated circuit (IC) and printed circuit board (PCB) design. An exemplary candidate will have a proven record of scholarly contributions, including journal articles, conference submissions, presentations, and patent applications, showcasing their research proficiency and creativity. Teaching and mentoring experience is highly valued, as the candidate is expected to collaboratively mentor graduate students in the laboratory and actively contribute to the development and composition of new research proposals for securing external research funding.
