JOB SUMMARY
The Plating and Heat treat Supervisor provides service, support and supervision for employees working in the following departments; Wastewater, Chemical Lab, Plating, Lube, Cleaning and Heat Treat departments. Plan and organize day to day workflow and consistently meet quality and production standards. Responsibilities include meeting customer service goals in the area of quality and on-time delivery, training, developing, and monitoring members of the workforce, assuring compliance to company safety, quality, and environmental policies. Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures. Focus on process improvement, kaizen mentality, and implement a long-range growth and capabilities plan.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for supervising 1st and 2nd shift employees.
Update work instructions for processes/ new equipment. Train all employees to the updated work instructions.
Plan the day-to-day work activities and consistently strive to meet safety, quality and production standards.
Maintain necessary inventory levels for plating and order supplies. Minimize waste and maximize cash flow in the area of supply inventory.
Train and develop Lead Personnel to cover the tasks during Supervisor’s absences.
Capable of scheduling plating of compatible parts to maximize utilization of tanks.
Maintain customer satisfaction – both internally and externally
Actively review Quality data by defect type and manufacturing process and take action to improve.
Effectively communicate with management and shift leads regarding job priorities, manage based on the daily dispatch list.
Inspect parts before and after plating to identify potential defects and assure overall quality of product meets the requirements.
Work with direct team, QA, engineers, purchasing, test lab, production, and maintenance to troubleshoot issues and drive positive change.
Evaluate problems associated with the plating process or equipment and implement corrective actions.
Provide oversight to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and clean. Keep plating areas well organized.
Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Implement, enforce process procedures, safety and company policy.
Understand and perform ampere calculations for product to be plated.
Responsible for reporting all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to Safety Manager/Management/HR.
Maintain adequate knowledge of safety-related programs, plans and procedures affecting the employees and respective work areas.
Review current JHAs for each task performed by employees in the Plating Department and make updates where needed.
Provide information and training to ensure that employees are aware of the hazards associated with the tasks they perform, and the selection and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure its proper use on a continuous basis.
Ensure employees follow all applicable work instructions, process bulletins and safety procedures. Generate records of all safety training sessions with employees, including JHAs, work instructions and toolbox talks.
Assist the Chemical Engineer/Chemist to maintain the established process controls for the chemistry involving the following process tasks:

Verifies processes and procedures are followed to maintain Monogram Aerospace Fasteners NADCAP certifications and fully participates in the periodic certification audits.
