As the Plant Controller based at our brand new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in , you will enjoy providing financial direction to the plant and provide recommendations to improve site performance. You will also be accountable for planning and coordinating multi-site plant budget and business planning activities and ensuring alignment with corporate policies and practices.
You will oversee internal controls and month-end close activities, and you will be instrumental in delivering information and analytics on plant costs, inventory management, and continuous improvement opportunities to management. Additional key areas of your responsibility will include spend and material and labor variance analysis, forecasting, KPI management and reporting, asset safeguarding, and evaluating and tracking cost-out opportunities.
You will also:Develop a set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of The Shyft Group's reported financial results; ensure that reported results comply with GAAPPSupport the GM and Director of Finance in their financial reporting and analysis needsOversee the monthly accounting close and reporting cycleProcess balance sheet account reconciliations, key statistical entries, and manufacturing variancesEnsure GAAP compliance for period recognition of costs, capital vs. expense, and accrualsSupport audit requirements according to SOX and the PBC listingImplement SOPs and propose improvements for adoption across all plantsMaintain standard costs, bill of material cost rolls, PPV analysis, and monthly journal entriesAct as the finance SME within the Continuous Improvement (CI) teamsConduct examinations in the areas of process performance, line efficiency, capital spending, inventory management, customer service objectives, production costing, and cost reductionEnsure plant activity is recorded timely and accuratelyMonitor and implement plant internal to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard assets, and identify risksPlan and forecast, aligning plant annual planning with budget preparation and ongoing reportingAssist with investigations regarding spending and highlight improvement opportunitiesHelp examine variance drivers (month vs. prior year, forecast, and budget)Review materials and labor production variances with management and help find root causeReview and approve inter-month and period-end physical inventory cycle countsSupport capital expenditure development and any post-spend audits.Learn more about and life
