　　Job Summary:

　　The Physician Assistant is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient/outpatient care through collaboration with the Physician. The PA provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/Physician Assistant Advisory Committee.

　　Essential Functions:

　　Independently evaluate new and established patients, to later present or discuss with attending physician,

　　Round on new and established patients with attending MD,

　　Independently evaluate and create H and P on elective admission to the EMU, for diagnostic purposes or presurgical evaluation,

　　Write inpatient notes on new and established patients every day,

　　Put in admitting orders and other order changes every day in EPIC,

　　Independently make acute decisions of patient that are actively seizing or in status epilepticus, in terms of pharmacological management or disposition,

　　Contact MD for any urgent questions/decisions if needed,

　　Being able to order appropriate ancillary testing labs , MRis on new or established patients,

　　Take part on a call rotation, being able to independently triage phone calls and decide when it is appropriate to discuss with the attending physician.

　　Job Requirements:

　　Physician Assistant Certification,

　　Registration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/ Physician Assistant Advisory

　　Basic Life Support (BLS);

　　Advanced Life Support (ACLS)
