Associate Degree in Pharmacy Technology from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
Greater than two years of experience in the practice setting
Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
The purpose of the pharmacy technician/pharmacy technology instructor position is to prepare and teach courses designed for the pharmacy technician/pharmacy technology program; to create and cultivate an orderly, safe, and well-disciplined learning environment; and to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties:
Demonstrate ability to teach adults in a professional environment.
Prepare and teach assigned pharmacy technology courses in accordance with description published in catalog, the approved course outline, and in accordance with the course schedule.
Coordinate and supervise student clinicals at area hospitals and retail pharmacies.
Utilize principles of current pharmacy practice and diverse teaching strategies in class and clinical experiences.
Assist in the development and expansion of new and on-line pharmacy related classes.
Maintain professional development by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional development opportunities.
Assist in the college accreditation process.
Maintain timely and complete documentation associated with student and college records.
Inventory instructional supplies and replenish as needed.
Participate in program and divisional activities/meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director/Instructor of Healthcare Training and Dean of Healthcare and Public Safety.
