Job Overview:A CertifiedPharmacy Technician III is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in the pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the distribution of medications to patients. The distribution of medications, includes but is not limited to, selecting, counting, packing, labeling, and shipping medications. A Certified Pharmacy Technician III must be proficient in accessing and viewing the electronic health record and pharmacy systems. A Certified Pharmacy Technician III will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the job scopeJob Requirements:High School Degree or GEDActive National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT) is requiredApproved cert is through Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy TechnicianJob Responsibilities:Adheres to all safety requirements when handling, preparing, labeling, and disposing of chemotherapy and hazardous medications.Assists in non-sterile medication preparation by selecting, counting, packaging, scanning, labeling, filling, and shipping medications per department guidelines. Selects the appropriate medications and accurately labels.Optimizes workflow by efficiently and accurately completing job duties and prioritizing workload. Has a good overall job knowledge and uses good technical and procedural judgment. Assists with other duties as necessary for efficient pharmacy operations. Shows initiative and flexibility in carrying out day to day tasks. Utilizes appropriate and logical problem solving techniques. Indentifies critical issues and communicates to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.Appropriately uses pharmacy technology. Follows department standards of work, policies, and workflows.Responds politely and professionally to pharmacist/nursing/physician/patient or other requests via telephone, in writing, or in person. Appropriately manages, triages, and ensures timely follow-up of all requests.
