About Pharmacy Technician

  Description

  This position is responsible for processing all new referrals for CredenaHealth (CH) lines of business. This work includes obtaining the order and other required documentation, conferencing with the referral source, the Pharmacist and verifying insurance eligibility and benefits; cost of medication, obtaining pre-authorizations and re-authorizations and assisting patients with copay and financial assistance. This position is also responsible for monthly re-verification of insurance eligibility of active patients on service.

  Required Qualifications:

  Oregon Pharmacy Technician License upon hire. Or

  Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician upon hire.

  In compliance with the Providence Health and Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position upon hire, based on assigned duties.

  2 years of experience with insurance verification, medical claims processing, insurance member enrollment or customer service.

  2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a specialty setting (e.g. Long Term Care, Infusion or Specialty Pharmacy), OR

  3 years pharmacy technician experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting.

  2 years of experience with computers in data entry.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

  HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
