About Pharmacy Intern

  At Wegmans, our customers depend on our Pharmacy professionals to provide the best service possible when it comes to their health. As a Professional Pharmacy Intern, you’ll play an integral role in ensuring customers are getting the medical attention, care and services that makes a Wegmans Pharmacy unique, while you earn valuable training and knowledge needed to be a successful licensed Pharmacist. Under the guidance of a mentor, you will bring your coursework to life, gain a comprehensive knowledge of the retail pharmacy industry and be an active contributor in the department, learning to provide exceptional care to customers while effectively managing Pharmacy operations.

  What will I do?

  Deliver immunizations with high standards and incredible customer service

  Assess customer needs and listen to concerns while being empathetic to sensitive situations; strive to exceed customer expectations both in person and over the phone

  Answer customer questions, provide counseling about prescriptions, and relay any pertinent information

  Work with your mentor, members of management, pharmacists, technicians, and team members in the department to learn to better serve customer needs

  Learn each workflow step within the Pharmacy and act as an integral member of the process; gain an understanding of the pre-verifying and verifying process by observing a licensed Pharmacist

  Support special projects as well as customer and employee initiatives within the pharmacy; ensure consistency in execution and report back to the team on best practices

  Required Qualifications:

  In progress towards earning Pharm D degree in an accredited School of Pharmacy

  Pharmacist Intern permit where applicable by state law

  Immunization Certification

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Pharmacy experience

  Systems aptitude

  Computer skills

  Problem solving skills
