The Work You Will Do:
This Personnel Services Specialist/CBJA–SES is in the Bureau of Human Resource Management. This position will be responsible for the coordination and processing of all the organizational management functions and the new hire /onboarding process.

This position is located at the CARR Building, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd, Tallahassee, Florida. Tallahassee is a mid-sized city, the capital of the state of Florida, and is known for its beautiful parks and trails, rolling hills, canopied roads, museums, and natural resources. Pay:
$48,000 to $52,500.00 commensurate with work experience.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Review, evaluation and process FTE and OPS positions changes. These actions include establishing new positions, abolishing existing positions, add/delete and/or transfer of positions, reclassifications and organizational structure changes.
Review, evaluate, and analyze position descriptions to ensure proper classification in accordance with the broadband classification system, responsible for entering and maintaining accurate position data for all position actions in People First (PF); and, responsible for the accurate creation and maintenance of the agency Organizational Charts.
Responsible for reviewing and coordinating the approval of the new hire onboarding processes and forms for selected applicants to ensure compliance with Federal and State requirements and DEP procedures. These duties include completion of E-Verify on all new employees.
Responsible for assisting program areas in the proper hiring of foreign national applicants and maintains authorizations for employees to work in the U.S.
Coordinates the annual update of agency positions required to file Financial Disclosure with the Commission on Ethics and provides guidance to program areas regarding disclosure requirements.
Assists in developing and presenting training for Organizational Management and the DEP New Hire Onboarding process.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Position duties require a thorough working knowledge of the Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, Personnel rules of the Department of Management Services (DMS) and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Advanced skills in utilizing People First and other system applications in terms of positions, funding, and organizational management.
Applicants must have strong organizational and administrative skills.
Ability to conduct research and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions and make informed recommendations for action.
Ability to analyze data, organize in a logical format and apply to work assignments.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting and possess experience in coordinating work assignments.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and utilize problem-solving techniques.
Must have the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio.
