ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Certified Addiction Counselor is responsible for providing directtherapeutic services, group and individual, to adults with substance usedisorders. It is essential to have thorough knowledge of substance usedisorders, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, related evidenced basedassessments, and treatment practices.
Works collaboratively with the client to develop a comprehensive treatmentplan that addresses priority needs of the client, an agreed upon plan ofaction, and desired treatment outcomes.Utilizes approved curriculum to facilitate weekly groups and/or providesindividual treatment to membersConduct group and individual therapeutic interventionsAdminister follow-up assessmentsEvaluates and reports progress and outcome of treatment servicesCompletes clinical intakes, treatment plans/reviews, monthly reports,assessments, progress notes and discharge summaries.May participate in mental health on call, based on education/experience.Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation skillsExercise professional judgement.Use professional discretion to make independent decisions.Incorporate the use of Evidenced Based Practices and Motivational Interviewingskills.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None

EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE:
Current certification as a Certified Addiction Specialist (previousCertified Addictions Counselor II (CAC II) or higher (CAC III,LAC)) with Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) required.
