People Resources Coordinator
The primary responsibility of the People Resource s Coordinator is to support the Shake Shack People Resources Team in managing Team Member R elations matters and C ompliance within the organization. This role (based in our New York City Home Office) serves as the first point of contact for our Team Members, answering questions, providing support , handling Team Member inquires and escalating matters to other teams and departments as appropriate. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential to this role. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Compliance.
This is a NYC-based role, sitting out of our HQ office 5 days per week. We are not able to accommodate a remote setup for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Acts as the liaison between People Resources and Team Member s, providing excellent service and hospitality at all touchpoints .
Manages the People Resources inbox, phone, and mail solutioning, responding to questions, and escalating to other T eam M embers as appropriate.
Monitors trends and themes in questions and requests and shares with the Sr. Manager, Compliance to enhance self-service content in Workday Help .
Processes all unemployment claims. Responds to request for hearings and rebuttals.
Facilitates new hire on-boarding by completing Form I-9 for Home Office Team Members .
Completes all inquiries and/or paperwork as it pertains to Workers ’ Comp ensation claims, employment verifications, wage verification, and subpoenas.
Supports People Practices leadership in managing work related administrative and department duties including calendar management, meeting preparation, others as assigned.
Assists with preparation of documents and records required for legal requests, subpoenas, HUG Fund requests, and both market leader and team meetings.
Assists in the resolution of Team Member concerns and grievances by conducting initial investigations, gathering relevant information, and maintaining confidentiality.
Skills & Knowledge :
Strong v erbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Self-starter with the ability to learn and proactively take initiative.
Strong organization skills and time management skills with the proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines .
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite .
Workday experience preferred.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, b usiness, or related field preferred or relevant, demonstrated work experience.
2 years of People R esource s administrati ve experience required . E xperience in Team Member (Employee) R elations preferred.
Pay Range - $23.69 - $30.23
