As a Payroll Tax Manager you will implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. As a Payroll Tax Manager your duties will include but aren't limited too:
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll tax activities.
Manages and is accountable for on-time execution of tax responsibilities, including project deliverables.
Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations and make necessary adjustments to payroll processes.
Assure all associated Federal, State and Local payroll tax liabilities and associated regulatory tax filings are completed 100% accurately and on time.
Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Prepare and submit timely and accurate payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reports.
Coordinates with key business partners to review and monitor cross-departmental process impact.
Reviews and analyzes payroll tax procedures; applies continuous improvement methods to streamline processes and mitigate risk.
Manages and reports on key performance indicators and metrics.
Conducts internal audits of payroll files and recommends a corrective action plan.
Oversight of internal and external compliance requirements, regulations, and confidentiality provisions for the tax team.
Overall maintenance and development of procedures and policies related to payroll unit with understanding of their correlation to other cross-department impacts.
Oversight and collaborative relationship management with 3rd party payroll tax system provider to ensure long-term stability of solution as it relates to our business.
Actively participate with the management team in cross-functional business improvement initiatives.
Assist with Accounting/Financed Services as needed.

Requirements
The Ideal Payroll Tax Manager will have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) preferred.
3+experience in payroll tax management and compliance.
Good working knowledge of accounting and tax laws
Proven experience in Payroll Tax and Compliance
In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Familiarity with payroll processing systems and Paylocity software.
Ability to adapt to changes in tax laws and regulations and adjust payroll processes accordingly.
High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll tax calculations and filings.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, auditors, and tax authorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve compliance issues.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
