Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in the retail industry, situated in Houston, Texas. This in-office role requires an individual who is adept in comprehending and reconciling various transactions, understanding payroll related taxes, preparing and submitting statistical reports, and coordinating audits.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehend, record, and reconcile all transactions originating from Payroll, General Ledger, and Banks interfaces

• Develop a thorough understanding of Payroll related taxes across various US states and gain experience in registering, reporting, and filing with related regulatory authorities

• Prepare and submit various statistical reports to various agencies/authorities

• Coordinate various internal and external audits including tax audits or IRS notices

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Concur, and other related platforms for efficient operation

• Administer 401k - RRSP Administration along with managing 'About Time' and 'Accounting Functions'

• Implement Accrual Accounting, Auditing, AWS CDK, and Workday Payroll for smooth functioning

• Maintain a high level of detail orientation and organizational skills to ensure accurate customer credit records

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Familiarity with Ceridian and Concur systems

• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration

• Proficiency in using About Time software

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions effectively

• Experience in Accrual Accounting

• Auditing skills

• Familiarity with AWS CDK

• Experience with Workday Payroll

• Retail industry experience would be an advantage

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
