The Payer Relations Coordinator purpose is to help more people hear better by providing exemplary research, documentation management and other administrative survives that support HearingLife payer relations department.Position Summary:The Payer Relations (PR) Coordinator position supports Payer Relations department by performing administrative functions related to payer and reimbursement management, and management of workflows and partnerships. Role will be responsible for tracking and reporting internal and external requests, cataloging contracts, obtaining fee schedules, responding to payer audits, supporting PR managers, and performing payer policy research. The PR Coordinator will promote a culture of collaboration and customer-focused service delivery with all HearingLife functional areas to maximize revenue and identify operational and systems optimization opportunities within scope of Payer Relations.
Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
* Conducts research on all new perspective payers and documents the requirements before any margin analysis can be conducted. Tracks all efforts and status of each opportunity.
* Ensures timely entry of new contracts, contract terms, fee schedules and payer policies into contract management database.
* Manages Payer Relations inbox and Remedy ticketing system by reviewing field and payer requests/updates and assigning as needed to appropriate Payer Relations team members. Collaborates with PR Managers and PR Director on research and appropriate responses to field inquiries.
* Research payer websites and payer policy guidelines to identify requirements needed to support patient care and the revenue cycle. Updates payer terms and requirements in the contract management system.
* Monitors and documents interactions with payers and partners within the contract management system. Summarizes correspondence as needed for contract negotiations and payer meetings.
* Assists with obtaining and maintaining fee schedules for existing contracts. Ensures all updates are communicated cross departmental partners and are cataloged in Payer Relations database.
* Supports payer audit requests by creating a documentation request template, gathering requested documentation, and tracks audit status until resolution.
* Assists with development and implementation of Payer Relations processes and systems.
* Operates in compliance with all local, state, and Federal laws as well as HearingLife policy and compliance standards.
* Maintains knowledge of current HearingLife systems (AX, DM, POS, etc).

QualificationsSkills and Abilities
* 3+ years of Healthcare Knowledge of revenue cycle functions, reimbursement, billing terminology, and best practices.
* Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and revenue codes and their effect on reimbursement.
* Ability to solve complex problems and adapt to process variances in situations where limited standardization exists.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Advanced with MS Excel, specifically with creating Pivot Tables to analyze data and produce report.
* Ability to research and identify key information related to Payer Relations, reimbursement and payer changes.
* Audit data for accuracy and integrity, along with demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
* Work with persons at all levels of the organization and interact with members of multiple departments successfully.
* Work with minimal supervision to accomplish and carry out goals/objectives on time.
* Ability to multitask & effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
* Strong organizational skills.Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, business, finance, or a related field. May consider qualified candidates in lieu of a bachelor's degree with 4+ years of revenue cycle experience in billing, accounts receivables or credentialing.
* 3-5 years-experience as a managed care, payer relations, or revenue cycle roles.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Power Point, Word, Teams, Smartsheets.
* Knowledge of Dynamics AX is preferred.
* Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems as it relates to payer contracting, fee schedules, and patient financials.
* High attention to detail with ability to analyze and summarize data.
* Certified CRCR or CSPR is a preferred.
