DESCRIPTION OF WORKA Parole Agent 1 is trainee level work in the supervision of parolees (Field Operations) or professional parole counseling of offenders preparing for release from an institution (State Correctional Institution).
State Correctional Institution: Agents work within correctional facilities to prepare offenders for parole hearings. In addition to coordinating and monitoring the status of an offender's completion of mandated programs, they conduct critical preliminary interviews to determine their readiness for release and re-entry into the community.

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Four years of paraprofessional experience which includes two years of paraprofessional social services, human services, corrections, or law enforcement experience; orTwo years of paraprofessional social services, human services, corrections, or law enforcement experience, and an associate's degree; orA bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, legal studies, political science, behavioral science, or a related field; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are with 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Special Requirements:All positions require possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver's license or equivalent.All employees must obtain CLEAN certification within two months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this job.Other Requirements:This position requires successful completion of up to a nine (9) week training program at the Training Academy in Elizabethtown, PA.This position requires participation in training programs including firearms, defensive tactics, and personal safety techniques.This position requires you to wear, carry, and use protective devices such as ballistic vests and pepper spray.This position requires you to work independently and encounter potentially dangerous situations working in neighborhoods, offenders' homes, and prisons.You must meet the .
