DescriptionFull-time position to provide safe, quality, basic emergency medical careand transportation under the guidelines of Colorado protocols and SpanishPeaks Regional Health Center standards of care. Maintain equipment andvehicles utilized in providing service.

Salary Range: $24.32 - $34.09 based on qualifications with only benefitsrequired by law.
RequirementsHigh School diploma OR GED required. Current Colorado Paramedic License isrequired. Must possess current certification in ACLS and BCLS. Three years ofprevious EMS work experience is required.
Respond to requests for emergency medical care, examine patients andreport on patient condition to an emergency room nurse or physician viatwo-way radio or telephone.
Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential informationconcerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of a patient.
Provides reports on the condition of patient/client to the appropriatesupervisor and other staff members. Prepare and submit emergency managementpre-hospital forms according to policies and procedures including patientrecords and other forms as requested.
Comply with established universal precautions and isolation procedures.
Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator and EKGmonitor, telemetry equipment, oxygen and suction devices, intravenousfluids, injections, CPR and other procedures and medications as required.
Assess patient s condition/complaints and carry out appropriate basiclife support functions.
Clean interior and exterior of assigned unit daily.
Ensure all aspects of patient movement including, but not limited to,lifting from the ground, lifting a patient while on the cot, lifting apatient in a stair chair, carrying a patient down step in a stair chair orcot, moving patients from on surface to another is completed in safe andappropriate manner.
Administer wound care and apply traction and/or splinting.
Read maps and route ambulance unit as needed.
Transport patients to medical facilities.
Complete patient care reports and other related paperwork in a timelymanner.
Assure that emergency vehicles is completely inventoried, stocked and ingood running order throughout the work shift.
Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures.
Comply with continuing education requirements and maintain all relevantcertifications.
Maintain verbal contact with the Communications Center regarding unitreadiness, crew identities, location.
Demonstrates a flexible attitude and is professional in both appearanceand approach.
May be assigned shift supervisor responsibility including managing shiftcoverage, delegating tasks, ensuring assignments are completed,adherence to performance standards/policies and reporting any issues to theEmergency Services Manager.
