　　Job Summary and Qualifications

　　The Operating Room Technician demonstrates knowledge of surgical instruments and principals of sterile technique.

　　The Operating Room Technician anticipates the needs of the surgical suite within the scope of the position’s competencies with the use of critical thinking.

　　The Operating Room Technician adheres to hospital policies and procedures, is supervised by the Registered Nurse, and collaborates with the surgical team to improve customer satisfaction.

　　The Operating Room Technician is a supportive role and will be implemented, as the needs of the department require.

　　Duties include room setup, draping, passing of instruments, and retracting.

　　What qualifications you will need:

　　High School Diploma/GED

　　Graduate from Surgical Technician Program

　　Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

　　Minimum of one year of surgery experience preferred
