Job Title: OR Room Tech

Location: Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham, AL

Schedule: Full time, 6:30A - 3P

Job Summary:

The OR Room Tech in the Operating Room provides essential support to the surgical team, ensuring the smooth operation of procedures by assisting with patient care, anesthesia turnover, and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the operating room environment. The OR Room Tech plays a crucial role in helping to maintain a safe, efficient, and sterile environment for both patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

Anesthesia Turnover: Assist with setting up, cleaning, and restocking anesthesia equipment; help with patient transfers and positioning.

Operating Room Turnover: Clean and disinfect OR surfaces and equipment; set up and remove surgical instruments; restock supplies.

Patient Care: Assist with transporting and positioning patients during surgery; provide basic care under nursing direction.

Environmental Maintenance: Ensure OR equipment is clean and functional; follow infection control protocols; maintain organized supply rooms.

Collaboration: Work closely with the surgical team to ensure a smooth workflow and communicate patient and OR status updates.

Grandview Medical Center

Grandview Medical Center is a 434-bed tertiary care hospital that provides healthcare services to patients in Birmingham and surrounding communities. Conveniently located on Highway 280, Grandview Medical Center offers diverse specialties from robotic-assisted surgery to heart care to labor and delivery to. Specialty units include a Level III trauma center, certified Chest Pain Center , recognized stroke center , cardiac cath lab and neonatal , surgical and medical intensive care.
