　　Title: Ophthalmic Photographer Assistant, Cataract Pre-operative Measurements

　　Summary:

　　Operates specialized ophthalmic equipment and performs ophthalmic imaging procedures for cataract pre-op measurements.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Under direct supervision of an eye care provider, assists with performing patient care and patient flow.

　　Under direct supervision of an eye care provider: Performs diagnostic imaging and testing including biometry, corneal topography and tomography, OCTs and ophthalmic ultrasound.

　　Provides documentation, patient education and enters charges.

　　Performs clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area.

　　Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

　　Requirements:

　　Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.

　　Required Licensure/Certification: Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) within 30 days of hire or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification. Completion of the Ophthalmic Assistant Home Study Course within 1 year of hire (tracked by unit) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider.

　　Minimum Experience: 2 years of related healthcare experience.

　　Preferred:

　　Experience in a cataract practice. General understanding of cataract diagnosis and surgery.

　　Prior experience with biometry (IOL Master a plus), Pentacam, corneal topographer and OCT.

　　The pay range for this position is: $22.14 - $28.78 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
