  This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division.   Who We Are

  HII – Mission Technologies is currently seeking an experienced Operations Deputy Program Director with expert-level experience in Department of Defense (DoD) maritime patrol and reconnaissance operations. The candidate should be experienced in managing systems engineering and integration, integrated logistics and product support, mission systems technology development, and support of DoD Combatant Commands and Intelligence Agencies.

  What You Will Do

  Provide SME-level guidance and oversight of maritime patrol and reconnaissance contract support to the DoD.

  Manage and direct support operations, maintenance, and sustainment tasks related to crewed and uncrewed ISR and other platforms.

  Manage technical and administrative staff and provide ongoing direction in the performance of the program.

  Manage subcontracts focused on expanding upon current capabilities through research, integration, testing and evaluation, initial fielding and sustainment, and training for end users.

  Prepare and deliver formal briefings.

  Direct project managers.

  Develop and monitor program plans. Establish milestones and monitor adherence to program plans.

  Prioritize workloads and maintain appropriate staffing levels.

  Review reports and briefings prepared by technical staff for quality.

  Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, subcontractors, and other outside agencies.

  Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract. Participate in negotiating contract and contract changes.

  Promote quality assurance and security procedures across the program.

  Travel to support customer meetings, observe and evaluate testing, participate in status meetings, etc. (25% travel).

  What We Are Looking For

  Experience with developmental test planning, execution, analysis, and compliance with DoD Directive 5031.61 and associated Military Department Policies and Technical Publications.

  8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; 5 years relevant experience with PhD in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.

  10 years of experience with oversight of engineering program logistics, as well as managing program the requirements of day-to-day operations of multiple teams in a distributed environment.

  Must possess and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance with the ability to attain an SCI based on a Single Source Background Investigation (SSBI).

  Position primarily is tele-work with routine reporting to Government and HII offices in Fair Lakes, VA and Patuxent River, MD as necessary and OCONUS as required.

  US Citizenship required.

  Preferred: Bonus Points For...

  Applicable engineering or aviation experience and certifications.

  Engineering Flight Test experience.

  Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Certifications.

  GSA OASIS or FEDSIM contract working knowledge/experience.

  Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  Leadership and management skills as evidenced by previous work experience.

  Strong customer service orientation.
