Job Overview:
We are seeking a friendly and organized individual to join our healthcare team as a Front Desk Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to patients, managing front desk operations, and ensuring the smooth flow of activities in a medical office setting.
Responsibilities:
Patient Check-In and Check-Out:
Greet and assist patients as they arrive at the front desk.
Collect and verify patient information during check-in and update records as necessary.
Schedule appointments and manage patient check-out procedures.
Appointment Scheduling:
Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of medical staff time.
Confirm appointments and provide necessary instructions to patients.
Phone and Email Communication:
Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Respond to patient inquiries via phone and email.
Relay messages to medical staff accurately.
Patient Records Management:
Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations.
Organize and manage patient paperwork.
Insurance Verification:
Verify patient insurance information and process necessary documentation.
Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.
Waiting Room Management:
Ensure a clean and comfortable waiting area for patients.
Monitor and manage patient flow to minimize wait times.
Payment Processing:
Collect and process patient co-payments and payments for services.
Coordinate with billing department for any billing-related concerns.
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support to medical staff as needed.
Assist with the coordination of referrals and medical records.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is a plus.
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
