The Office & Administrative Specialist will provide administrative and technical support to the Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention and Control Division.
Primary Job Duties:
Providing reception and customer service support
Managing the receptionist database
Assisting with scanning and mailings
Assist with administrative tasks/projects as requested
Minimum Qualifications
The following experience must clearly be demonstrated on the applicant‘s resume/application to be considered for this position:
Data entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries in a timely manner.
Database management sufficient to enter and retrieve data.
Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person and via email.
Communication skills sufficient to understand and be understood during interactions with others.
Communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Communication skills sufficient to explain policies, procedures and regulations so that others understand the information they are being given.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical terminology sufficient to draft related documents and correspondence with accuracy and maintain records.
Database management sufficient to develop tables and manipulate, retrieve, and analyze data.
Database management sufficient to develop and maintain databases.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a seated position for extended periods of time.
Additional Requirements
This position does not require a driver‘s license, but the incumbent will be responsible for reporting to the Freeman Building for work. The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a background check and reference check.
