  Position Summary :

  Bryant & Stratton College Program Directors (PDs) perform both administrative and instructional duties. As administrators, PDs support the College mission and vision by overseeing the day-to-day management of their program areas. They are responsible for coaching and mentoring instructors within their program area as related to classroom methodology and delivery. PDs are also responsible for providing guidance to Program Coordinators, and subject-area instructors and for ensuring that all required record keeping and reporting are completed in a timely and accurate manner. As instructors, PDs follow the job description for Instructional Associates.

  Program Directors will be responsible for the supervision and administration of up to three programs. In addition, they will teach 0-3 classes per semester, depending on the number of faculty and/or students in the program(s) they oversee. They will follow a 40-hour work week and are classified as exempt employees.   Essential Position Responsibilities:

  Serve as academic leader of one or more program or subject areas.

  Supervise the daily operations of the nursing program.

  Maintain clinical site selection criteria to support nursing competency requirements within the legal scope of practice.

  Implement the program and curriculum

  Oversee the admissions and progression of students and certify graduates of the nursing program as applicants for the NCLEX exam.

  Participate in the campus budget process.

  Establish the faculty or teaching assistant to student ratio for direct patient care experiences at no greater a ratio than ten students to one faculty or teaching assistant, or a smaller ratio in clinical settings where necessary to ensure the safe delivery of nursing care by students, faculty, and teaching assistants;

  Analyze program statistics; implement strategies to improve retention, completion rates, and NCLEX participation/results.

  Maintain resources, including but not limited to classroom and skills laboratory equipment and supplies necessary for students to successfully complete the program.

  Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of assigned fields.

  Participate in curriculum monitoring and development process.

  Organize and monitor subject-specific campus-wide initiatives and activities.

  Collect and review beginning- and end-of-term paperwork for purposes of quality assurance and accuracy. Follow up with coaching as needed for continual improvement.

  Assist in the coordination and submission of Course Review materials and complete follow-up meetings with faculty.

  Participate through recommendations to the campus library committee in library collection development to support program content and assist subject-area faculty in the use of scholarly works in course material and/or assignments.

  Provide recommendations to the management team vis-à-vis the upkeep and purchase of subject-specific hardware and software and safeguard subject-area materials, records, and equipment.

  Participate in review of subject-area student portfolios in the students’ final term prior to graduation.

  Participate as required as a member of the academic and/or campus management team(s).

  Participate in campus-based and community related activities as a representative of subject-area leadership and the College.

  Manage the hiring, development, evaluation, and termination of subject-area instructors in collaboration with the Dean of Instruction

  Evaluate faculty credentials as part of the hiring and scheduling processes.

  Establish and implement an orientation process for new faculty;

  Ensure that all subject-area instructors adhere to all required administrative and classroom delivery duties and requirements as outlined in the job description for Instructional Associates.

  Evaluate and coach faculty with respect to department expectations, course development, and rigor.

  Perform annual performance reviews for subject-area instructors.

  Evaluate faculty performance for promotion, retention, or termination purposes in accordance with College guidelines.

  Assist the Dean of Instruction in on-going faculty development and faculty development planning and delivery.

  Provide on-going development opportunities for subject-area instructors to aid in their continuous improvement and growth.

  Perform developmental and evaluative classroom observations, facilitate pre- and post-observation discussions, and collaborate with faculty in creation of developmental plans. Monitor progress toward and completion of action plans.

  Lead instructional delivery and methodology training (along with peer PDs) under the supervision of the dean.

  Assist the Dean in increasing participation of both full- and part-time faculty in developing and maintaining the Professional Teaching Portfolio to affect the quality of teaching and learning in their program area.

  Conduct regular meetings with subject-area instructors. Record and save minutes.

  Provide subject-specific training for instructors on an as-needed basis to communicate changes in instructional emphases, curriculum, technology, etc.

  Adhere to and uphold all established operational policies and procedures.

  Ensure that all subject-area instructors adhere to all required administrative and classroom delivery duties and requirements as outlined in the job description for Instructional Associates.

  Provide input into the nursing budget process.

  Establish a calendar and system to ensure the timely and accurate completion and submission of all government and accrediting agency reports. Complete all such reports.

  Pursue opportunities for professional growth, including participating in and completing the PD/PA/SAC Certification program developed by the College.

  Valid NY State Nursing License

  Salary:

  $100,000 - $120,000 per year

  Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Bryant & Stratton College, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
