Facility name: IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility
Location: 3400 FM 350 South, Livingston, Texas
Work schedule: Full time

The Nursing Assistant performs technical duties in the field of detainee patient care and participates in the general healthcare of detainees by providing assistance for activities permitted in the state of Texas.
Essential functions:
Assist in coordinating the movement of detainees to and from different areas for medical treatment.
Take and record vital signs and medical history of assigned detainees.
Prepare detainees for examinations and assist nurse or provider during examination.
Explain treatment procedures to detainees; provide education on condition, treatment, or treatment plan.
Administer oral medications.
Provide assistance to Infirmary detainees as instructed, and accurately enter treatment provided in medical record.
Perform complex and technical procedures under nursing supervision, such as: unsterile dressing changes, superficial wound care, performing urine and finger stick glucose tests.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school graduate or GED.
Current Medical Assistant Certification or registry from an accredited medical assistant program recognized by the state of Texas required.
CPR certification required.
Current registration or Certification must be kept on file with administrative staff at facility.
Valid drivers license in the State of Texas with an acceptable driving record required.
