Some highlights of this opportunity include: * Nurse Practitioners (APRN) provide direct lactation support and education to patients and staff to ensure that a high quality, cost effective service is delivered. * Advanced Practitioners are responsible for providing comprehensive, advanced, and specialized health services across the continuum of the patient’s lactation experience. * This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with the Maternity Women's health services. * These responsibilities include, but are not limited to patient and staff education, consultation and partnerships with health care resources and others within our organization, network and community. * Assists in the establishment of lactation through education and direct patient care in the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods * Assesses for breastfeeding difficulties. Works with providers to establish an individual plan of action for patients, using hospital polices and protocols top ensure consistency of information.
