About Network Engineer IV, Implementation and Operations

BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

You develop and integrate network enhancements, architecture and design and make improvement recommendations. You guide project quality by establishing and maintaining corporate standards. You collaborate with teams in person and digitally within an office environment. Depending on the business unit, you may be part of a 24/7/365 on-call environment.

HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Drive engineering projects by designing, deploying and maintaining LAN/WAN infrastructure technologies.

Use knowledge of routing and switching platforms to troubleshoot and coordinate implementations.

Troubleshoot and resolve major network and system issues to maintain continuous network operations.

Guide and mentor less experienced team members to improve productivity.

Research and identify technology opportunities and their business applications to position the company at the forefront of the industry.

Test and validate new hardware and connections to ensure proper configuration and technical performance.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM ENTERPRISE

Required qualifications

Experience: Six or more years of data network experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.

Technical skills: In-depth data network knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model and optical networking; Understanding of IEEE and ANSI standards; Familiar with fiber, multi-mode, single-mode, UTP, bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet and transport technologies and protocols; Knowledge of network design, devices, network appliances, network architecture, protocols and network topology; History of using internal and vendor ticketing tools; Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Skills: Leadership and English communication skills.

Abilities: Deadline-driven with the ability to learn new technologies.

Preferred qualifications

CCNP or other industry-specific certifications.

Knowledge of Spectrum Enterprise products and services.

Experience as a Charter contractor.
