Description
Network Engineer 3 – The successful candidate will operationally support Huntingon’s hybrid cloud, enterprise, and WAN/LAN retail networks. As part of a collaborative team, you will focus on improving reliability and enabling positive experiences for internal/external customers.
Detailed Description:
Performs advanced incident troubleshooting and mentors junior engineers.
Implements innovative solutions to operational problems, with a focus on automation, observability, and reliability.
Works across silos to solve problems and operationalize new technologies.
Maintains documentation and updates the network and security infrastructure, tests and implements vendor security patches, and implements mitigations for security vulnerabilities.
Conducts large-scale, automated, network software upgrades.
Troubleshoots problems with applications, network and security infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN/SASE, DNS/IPAM, NAC, SD-WAN and wireless.
Takes corrective actions when necessary, following change control guidelines and polices.
Resolves complex, escalated issues in a public/private hybrid multi-cloud network.
Creates all required technical documentation in accordance with Huntington's Change Control and project management processes and procedures.
Provide after-hours on-call support on a rotational basis.
Leads and participates in post-mortem reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in IT with a focus on network technologies such as routers, switches, SD-WAN, VPN/SASE, firewalls, load-balancers, DNS/IPAM, and enterprise wireless.
At least 1 year network programmability experience leveraging Python, Ansible, Git and API’s to solve problems
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or cyber security.
Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and ability to work both independently and in a group.
Knowledge of working in ITIL and Agile environments.
Experience with network security technologies like Palo Alto firewalls and NAC (Cisco ISE)
Software Defined Networking experience (SD-WAN, DNAC, ACI)
Experience with UNIX/Linux and scripting.
In-depth experience with dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF.
Advanced understanding of performance and monitoring via SNMP, Splunk, telemetry and Thousandeyes.
Proficient in more than one specific infrastructure technology.
Advanced understanding of best practices and Huntington policies.
Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
1 or more technical certifications such as Cisco CCNP-Enterprise or Datacenter, DevNet, Palo Alto PCNSA or F5 BIG-IP.
Proficiency with network automation, including programming languages like Python and Ansible.
Experience in an enterprise environment and previous banking/financial industry experience is a plus.
