  The primary purpose of this role is to lead the client management team for North America Market accountable for growth, retention, and profitability.

  The position includes general management responsibilities, leading key initiatives that serve to develop and execute upon the business strategy for UHC Global, as well as ongoing management reporting.

  You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Business Planning

  Participates in annual strategic business planning

  Prepares and updates the annual client management business plan; adjusts strategy to meet financial goals and other KPIs

  Market Facing

  Serve as leadership in the market

  Establishes and maintains strong professional and personal relationships with clients and consultants presenting a positive image of UHCG

  Develops relationships with senior level contacts at select clients and consulting houses within the region

  Participates in events strategy representing client management

  Attends market events (e.g., charity dinner), as appropriate

  Communicates UHG value and differentiation on a consistent basis

  Growth

  Delivers against business plan growth goals meeting key KPIs including NBEA sales, retention, renewal rate increase and client NPS

  Responsible for effective NBEA pipeline management

  Ensure use of disciplined client management strategy and approach by the team

  Leads client advisory council

  Provides feedback to the organization on market trends and improvement opportunities as presented by clients and consultants

  Assists in bringing escalated client issues to resolution

  Assists team with key RFPs, renewals and negotiations

  Partners with sales leader in planning and facilitating annual growth forum

  General Management

  Create collaborative team environment fostering strong team work

  Partners effectively business partners (finance, UW, marketing, product, legal, etc.)

  Collaborates effectively with UHC Domestic and Optum leadership

  Oversees team utilizing data to assess client management effectiveness

  Actively participates in MBRs and town halls and supports other management reporting requirements

  Maintains a deep understanding of all UHG products and services

  Develops and maintains internal UHG network

  Removes barriers and obstacles for staff

  Maintains high level of industry knowledge

  Demonstrates support of company-wide programs and initiatives

  Executes on Employee Engagement initiatives

  Talent Management

  Recruits, hires and manages performance of staff providing ongoing feedback, conducting regularly scheduled 1:1s and facilitating MAP process in a timely manner

  Reviews job descriptions and MAP goals for client management positions annually

  Partners with compensation team annually to modify SIP as appropriate

  Leads weekly staff calls

  Motivates and inspires others to meet their goals

  Participates in personal development (MAP self-assessment, training, etc.)

  Attends and participates in one-on-ones with manager

  Required Qualifications:

  5+ years in healthcare sector, global experience required

  Exceptional problem solving skills

  5+ years in a client facing and/or sales roles leading teams

  Demonstrates strategic thinking and planning

  Excellent relationship management skills, comfortable engaging with high level executives at client organization

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  Excellent presentation skills

  Excellent leadership skills

  Solid ability to negotiate and influence

  Understanding of UHCG products and services

  Solid understanding of business financial acumen

  Life/Health/Accident License is required

  *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy

  California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey , New York , Rhode Island , or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $130,000 to $220,000 per year. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
