What You’ll Do
KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2024 Intern class.
This internship project will demonstrate how to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Large Language Models (LLMs) to supplement and enhance Information Assurance (IA) and cyber security tasks, such as AI powered security control statements, AI assisted security assessments, and AI assisted Continuous Monitoring. Also demonstrate how LLMs can be kept secure. AI, generative AI, and Large Language Models are quickly being adopted by businesses to increase efficiency in a multitude of tasks. We need to explore how AI can be harnessed to assist with KBR Information Assurance and cyber security tasks and how it can be done securely.
As a National Security Solutions Intern, you will:
Demonstrate how KBR's AI model can be used to supplement and enhance cybersecurity activities.
Demonstrate how AI and LLMs can be used to supplement and enhance KBR's Information Assurance tasks.
Demonstrate/test concepts to adequately secure the model and document a CONOPs.
Document results in final report.
Selected interns for this paid opportunity will be provided with the opportunity to mentor with experienced professionals, gain experience and establish a name for themselves in this high demand career field.
Anticipated Skill Set:
Computer science software programming experience with Python, Java and/or C/C++
Fundamental knowledge of information assurance and security design principles
Basic knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and LLMs and their security risks
Ability to conduct research and conceptualize test cases for cybersecurity and IA tasks powered by AI
Ability to develop and document a Concept of Operations (CONOPs)
Ability to document findings in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint
Major field of study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Information Assurance.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: Average 40 hours per week.
Requirement:
Must be a US Citizen
Must pass a Security Pre-Screen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
