The National Account Manager’s primary role is to provide leadership and management to assigned client programs and relationships. The role is responsible for meeting or exceeding expected client service levels on assigned client accounts; and is the primary point of contact for the client, and any challenges within the operation of an account are escalated for resolution. The role is focused on management of assigned accounts, to ensure that each client’s program is managed and operates with maximum efficiency. This position performs random data checks to ensure that accuracy levels are at expected levels. Will work in conjunction with their relevant Director of National Sales Accounts to identify and convert opportunities for program expansion or improvement. Must be able to strategically analyze the profitability of the account and find value added services for the client.
Responsibilities:
Follow and enforce BRS’s documented best practices with respect to Sales, related to entire sales process and on boarding of new client programs
Perform outreach to existing clients to seek feedback on satisfaction levels; document key points and/or deliverables to confirm mutual expectations
Adhere to procedures related to sales travel, expense reporting, and other related processes
Assist with sales calls and other outreach to qualified appropriate leads
Provide accurate client reporting using defined standard menu, propose exceptions for informed decision making
Manage customer data fields in the JANUS program to include (price, store address, SKU’s, etc.)
Knowledge of and execute all aspects of the customer’s agreement
Develop, maintain, and share knowledge of technical and business challenges of clients
Identify opportunities to increase program scope of products and services that meet identified challenges or market needs
Initiate meetings with clients to present new technology and/or other solutions with attention to presenting benefits to each client
Build strong relationships with prospective and current clients that expand program revenue; guide problem resolution discussions to conclusions that protect margin and relationships
Broaden and grow contacts within client organizations for cross selling purposes and reduce risk due to key contact departure (attrition)
Stay current on professional knowledge and retail trends
Manage and work through customer needs in order to anticipate future needs, matching organizational capabilities and recommending new ones
Maintain knowledge of specialized programs and services such as New Store Operations to effectively guide clients and liaison with specialized NSO team
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred
8+ years of management and sales experience
5 years of experience selling business services/programs to national accounts
Financial skills a plus (reading P&Ls, Forecasting)
Effectively communicate both orally and in written form with management, internal and external customers.
Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
