Job Description
Location: Decatur, IL (Hybrid; 3 days in office; will need to be able tocome into the office as requested)
Travel Requirement: 0-25%
Positions Contributions to Work Group:
- Design Engineering first point of contact for Decatur factoryoperations of the 24 Motor Grader model.
- Collaborate with operations/manufacturing team and design controlowners to enable product shipment velocity with high quality.
- Investigate factory engineering questions/issues and coordinatedesign owner review of issues as required.
- Review print deviation requests and assign to appropriate designcontrol owners.
- Participate in weekly operations meetings as Design Engineeringliaison.
- Conduct second-pass sort of Internal/External design-caused defectsto confirm issue ownership.
- Actively contributing to Motor Grader product development andhigh-quality delivery through Concurrent Product & Process Development(CPPD) system
- Create and managing product structure using 3-D modeling tools.
- Collaborate across design, supply, manufacturing, and sales teams todevelop product structure solutions that support customer needs.
Typical task breakdown:
- 3 days in office; will need to be able to come into the office asrequested
- Product configuration support (50%)
- Motor Grader Engineering shop response (50%)
Interaction with team:
- Collaborating with team members in engineering, manufacturing,purchasing, and quality
- Some individual tasks
Work environment:
- In product engineering office, ability to walk to shop floor
Education & Experience Required:
- Looking for 2-3 years of experience; internship included
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Would consider Masters degree with 1-2 years of experience
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Experience with Pro-E/CREO or 3-D modeling software tools
- At least 2-year engineering experience including co-ops, internships,or other engineering related industry assignments.
(Desired)
- Shop floor/manufacturing environment experience
Soft Skills
(Required)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
