Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment in a major producing unit or assigned area.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values”.

Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics”.

Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.

Inspects equipment for defects, such as, misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.

Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.

Advises when immediate shut-down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.

Dismantle, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment.

Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics.

Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.

Operates simple machine tools, such as, drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc.

Babbitts and scrapes bearings as required.

Erects scaffolds and performs simple rigging as necessary.

Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.

Familiar with alignment / laser tools and equipment

Works with repair crews as directed on emergency breakdowns.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/ power plant or construction experience. A general knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass the written Millwright Skills Test at or above 70% or have an NCCER certification for your craft. Completed the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training. Obtain and maintain an active status in a drug testing program and pass a criminal background check.
