Position Description/Minimum Qualifications * Eliot\'s EmergencyResidence supporting latency age children referred by the Department ofChildren and Families is seeking a Milieu Specialist I with one year ofexperience working with the population. An ideal candidate will have theability to establish a positive rapport with a culturally andeconomically diverse group of children and families. Eliot\'s SocialServices Division includes short-term community-based assessment,stabilization and support programs (Emergency Residence) for latency agechildren and adolescents . The programs provide a safe, structured, andrespectful environment for children and youth to thrive, change and growby focusing on treatment, skill-building, and permanency.Responsibilities: Daily coordination of youth in executing the plan ofthe day in accordance with program, DCF, DYS, DMH, DEEC and ECHSpolicies and procedures. Serve as the lead staff for all assignedshifts. Participate in the development and implementation of IndividualAction and Crisis Prevention Plans. Attend supervision, staff and shiftchange meetings, and training as required. Lead daily groups asassigned. Manage the program security equipment including radios, keys,and all other assigned equipment according to policy. Actively monitorand participate in community service, recreation, visits, family time,and other off-ground activities. Safely transport youth to activities,appointments, school, work, and visits. Participate in intakes asneeded. Serve as an Advocate for assigned youth and complete AdvocateReports on a weekly basis. Qualifications: High School diploma and atleast one year of related experience with the population. Must be ableto adhere to a model of care that focuses on Trauma-Informed Care andInterventions. Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers andrelated software applications. A Demonstrates sound judgment andeffective, solution-focused, problem-solving skills. Ability to developand maintain professional working relationships with residents, staff,co-workers, and supervisors. Ability to work effectively with diversepopulations and cultural groups
